Thursday racing tips

  • Chepstow
    2.45: Love Tree 7/4 (1pt)
  • Ludlow
    2.35: Go To War 10/11 (2pts), 4.10: One True King 15/2 each-way (0.5pt),

Love Tree

Took a keen hold last time out which really didn't give her a chance in listed company at Doncaster in January.

She was a 20/1 shot but still could have been much closer up if she could have settled.

She's been given a hood for the first time along with a jockey appointment of in-form Harry Cobden which both could contribute to a turnaround.

The four-year-old has been bumped 5lb down from her last run and actually that could be a bit much based on her potential.

All these factors along with everything else should contribute to a much different outcome to her last two runs.

Go To War

Fergal O'Brien-trained horse won over course and distance in December and later went off for a wind op.

He's looking like the clear winner here if he can fend off the potential improver Court In The Act who also won last time out.

O'Brien has great form going into this race too which bodes well and under regular rider Paddy Brennan, has all the makings of a comfortable winner.

He's achieved a rating of 123 from winning so well last time out.

Add to that a great third behind Ballee and Matterhorn, he could still be well-weighted to strike.

One True King

Bit of a punt on this horse as he's not been in the winners' enclosure since September 2022.

But this is very interesting to see him drop down to 2m for the first time since 2021.

He's primarily been seen over 3m for the last three years including four times already this calendar year.

He's now dropped to a very dangerous low mark even with the help quite often from 7lb claimer Toby McCain-Mitchell to take off even more weight.

But he's shown real promise in second in each of the last two runs including a third in January.

He's won here before and over this distance, even though he's not as adept to this 2m he's got pace and could be a big winner for Nigel Twiston-Davies at a big price.
